According to two people with direct knowledge of the situation, Microsoft Corporation, a software giant based in the United States, intends to construct a massive hyperscale data center in Pune as part of its multi-city data center strategy for India Through an agreement with Finolex Industries to transfer the long-term lease for nearly Rs. 329 crore, the company’s India division has acquired a 25-acre land parcel in the Pimpri-Waghere neighborhood of the city and plans to develop the data center on this plot.

The Monetary Times reports the organization has procured a 25-section of land bundle in the Pimpri-Waghere territory in the northwest of the Maharashtra city, where it intends to foster a server farm.
According to reports, the agreement involves transferring the long-term lease for nearly Rs 329 crore, or 39.7 million dollars, to Finolex Industries.
The businesses refused to speak with the publication. In 2015, Microsoft established three Indian cloud regions in Mumbai (West India), Chennai (South India), and Pune (Central India).It added three availability zones in Pune, India Central, in December 2021;it is the main Indian Sky blue district with accessibility zones.
The company made plans for a Hyderabad region earlier this year, but no timelines were provided.
The India West location in Mumbai, which may have been transformed into a reserved access zone, appears to have been de-listed since then.
